Polysilsesquioxane (PSQ) is an organic inorganic hybrid polymer with Si-O bonds as the inorganic backbone and organic groups attached to side chains, with the general chemical formula of (RSiO₁.₅)ₙ, where R refers to organic substituents such as methyl, phenyl, vinyl, amino, mercapto, epoxy groups, etc. PSQ mainly features amorphous, ladder like, cage like and partial cage like structures, endowing it with favorable compatibility, low toxicity, mechanical stability and other properties. Such hybrid structures at micro-nano scale exert unique effects on polymer modification, attracting extensive attention in the materials industry.

In response to market demands, our company has developed two graded product series: Polymethylsilsesquioxane (PMSQ) Microspheres and Polyphenylsilsesquioxane (PPSQ) Microspheres, via high-precision polymerization regulation at the molecular level.

Polymethylsilsesquioxane (PMSQ) Microspheres

A general-purpose product with methyl-based silane as the core raw material, featuring highly ordered methyl groups (-CH₃) at the molecular level. With a simple structure and controllable cost, it delivers core advantages of high cost-performance and basic protection. The low surface energy brought by methyl groups grants the product both hydrophobicity and air permeability, along with strong chemical stability and high transparency, enabling long-term stable performance under ambient temperature.

Typical Application Scenarios

· Optical Field: It can be used as a light diffuser to effectively enhance the light-diffusing performance of materials, endowing materials with low density, high light transmittance and excellent light-scattering property, which greatly improves lighting comfort. It is widely applied as a filler and modifier for plastics, rubber, cosmetics, coatings and other products.

· General-Purpose Industrial Protection: Added to moisture-proof coatings for metal and plastic substrates, it meets low-cost requirements of basic moisture resistance, corrosion resistance, heat resistance and flame retardancy in scenarios including warehousing and general equipment protection.

· Daily-Use Cosmetics & Beauty: As a key ingredient in primer and setting powder, it forms a breathable protective film relying on hydrophobicity, isolating sweat and sebum to extend the wear time of daily makeup, with a lightweight skin feel free of acne irritation.

· High-End Electronic Packaging: Used as packaging materials for LED chips and automotive electronic chips, it blocks moisture and resists continuous high temperature during equipment operation by virtue of high-temperature resistance and superior insulation, avoiding short circuit and aging issues.

· High-End Cosmetic Modification: Applied in liquid foundation, lipstick and other products, it optimizes the optical effect of makeup with high refractive index, presenting finer and more translucent skin tone to meet the demand for exquisite makeup.

Polyphenylsilsesquioxane (PPSQ) Microspheres

A high-performance product with phenyl-based silane as the core raw material, featuring highly ordered conjugated benzene ring structures that upgrade product performance. The introduction of phenyl groups significantly improves the high-temperature resistance of the product, enabling tolerance to temperatures above 250℃. Meanwhile, it delivers excellent refractive index and UV-blocking capability, maintaining structural stability under complex working conditions with unchanged low-toxicity property.
